Update –  From last few weeks, we have seen many rumors about the upcoming smartphone from LeEco to feature 8GB of RAM and the unannounced Snapdragon 821 SoC. But the company came with the Le Max 2 in all new Force Gold color along with earlier announced Grey color. As rumored there are no changes in specifications, though the 6GB variant now comes with the 128GB of internal storage. It is priced at 2799 Yuan (approx $420 / Rs. 28,500) and is already on sale. There is no information about the availability of the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage in India.

Earlier: June 22nd, 2016 – LeEco recently launched its latest Superphones Le 2, Le 2 Pro, and Le Max 2 in China. Out of the three devices, only the Le 2 and Le Max 2 are made available in the Indian market. While the Chinese variant of Le 2 is powered by Helio X20, the Indian variant came with Snapdragon 652 processor. Now the company confirmed to launch a new smartphone on June 29th in China which we are expecting to be the rumored “Le Max 2 Pro.” Apart from the Silver and Gray colors, it will also be available additionally in Blue and Red color options.

While the Le Max Pro announced at CES 2016 is the first smartphone to feature Snapdragon 820 and now the Le Max 2 Pro is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 821 SoC. Though the ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe will be launching with Snapdragon 821 chipset in few selected markets including India, there is no official confirmation over it. Most of the specifications of Le Max 2 Pro remains same as on Le Max 2 and even comes with the same design. The Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor is an upgraded version of Snapdragon 820 processor and is clocked at 2.3GHz along with Adreno 530 GPU.

Another major change between the Le Max 2 and Le Max 2 Pro is the RAM capacity. While the Le Max 2 includes 6GB of RAM, the Le Max 2 Pro might feature a whopping 8GB of RAM. As of now, only a handful of devices are available with 6GB of RAM, the Le Max 2 Pro with 8GB seems to be too much for a smartphone. While on the camera front, the 21MP rear camera sensor will be upgraded to 25MP resolution. As seen with other Superphones in 2016, the Le Max 2 Pro will also skip the 3.5mm audio port and comes with USB Type-C port with in-house CDLA technology for lossless audio.

The Microsoft Surface is the first device to be rumored to sport 8GB of RAM but there is no information about the device itself. The Vivo XPlay 5 is the first smartphone to offer 6GB of RAM and is now available on few other Chinese devices including ZUK Z2 Pro and OnePlus 3. If the rumors are to be believed, the upcoming Galaxy Note 7 will also include 6GB of RAM. While once the Le Max 2 Pro is official, we guess other Chinese manufacturers will be launching smartphones with 8GB RAM. Stay tuned for more updates!
